Terms & Conditions
All lessons taught by all Oracle Driving Academy instructors will be subject to the acceptance of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions exist to protect both the learner and the instructor, to ensure guidelines are followed and all parties are treated in a fair manner.
As a pupil of Oracle Driving Academy, it is your responsibility to remain informed of these terms and conditions, and you can refer to these at any point if you require any information. Your driving instructor may also answer any questions you may have about Oracle Driving Academy and the guidelines that govern our practice.
Documentation and health
The pupil must hold a current, valid driving licence, and must produce both parts of this licence on their first driving lesson. You must be classed as fit to drive, in line with legal and medical requirements. Your instructor reserves the right to refuse to teach a student if these conditions are not met. It is your responsibility to notify an instructor of anything that may restrict your ability or right to drive, including the loss of a driving licence.
All introductory offers are available to new Oracle Driving Academy pupils only.
Only one introductory offer is available per new pupil.

Oracle driving academy lessons are normally payable in advance, either on the day to the instructor. All block bookings and crash courses are paid in advance to the instructor.
If either you or your instructor needs to cancel or re-arrange a lesson at least 48 hours notice will be required for lessons of up to two hours. Lessons that last longer than two hours and intensive lessons require a minimum of four days notice. Failure to give notice will result in compensation up to the value of the lesson missed.
Your instructor will do everything possible to ensure that your lessons start and finish on time, but reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change lesson lengths and start/finish times under certain circumstances (e.g., dangerous weather conditions). In the event of postponement, any fees paid in advance will be carried forward to the next lesson.
The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson if a pupil is suspected of or may be unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol, drugs or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be dangerous or illegal. In these circumstances the lesson fee will be payable.
Bookings and Lesson duration
Your dedicated instructor will do their best to maintain a regular lesson time with pupils to ensure continuity of learning, however this cannot be guaranteed. Your instructor will do their best to keep you informed of how far in advance you may need to book to ensure you can book a lesson at a time that works for you.
The minimum lesson period is one and a half hour. If, for any reason, the instructor is late for the lesson he/she will make a concerted effort to inform the pupil of the estimated time of arrival. If both the instructor and the pupil are happy for that period of time to be added to the end of that lesson this can be done without prior arrangement, however if it is not possible to do so, the time will be credited to the pupils next lesson.
Lessons will start and finish at the same location unless alternative arrangements are made at least 24 hours in advance of that lesson. Lessons will occur in a safe location, and may require travel to and from a pupil’s starting location if it is deemed unsafe. Any journey time that is involved in reaching a safer place in which to be taught will form part of paid lesson time.
Driving Lesson Vehicles
Training vehicles provided by the school are taxed, insured for the purposes of driving tuition, fully roadworthy and fitted with dual controls. Can pupils be taught in their own cars?
Your instructor reserves the right to refuse use of a driving school vehicle for test if he/she considers that the pupil may cause damage to the vehicle or the pupil has booked a test in advance of adequate development of driving skill and practice. Your instructor will be honest and committed to your practice, and the number of lessons and time taken to reach a certain skill level will be estimated by your instructor.
When a pupil reaches a level of skill and confidence required to attempt a test, the pupil will need to notify the instructor of the available slots at the pupils local test centre. Your instructor can also sit down with you or speak to you over the phone about test bookings.
If test bookings are made less than two weeks prior to the first lesson with an Oracle Driving Academy instructor, we reserve the right to refuse to accompany you to the test if we deem your level of skill to be less than needed to pass a test.
While your instructor will make every effort to ensure that the vehicle supplied for test will be fully road worthy and comply with all legal requirements at the start of the test, he/she cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during the test and is not liable for consequential loss.
Your instructor cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff shortages or other reasons beyond their control, therefore the lesson fee for the booked period will be charged.
